FAQ

  1. I have applied online to the BARC OCES/DGFS-2019 program. Should I send any documents now?

    If you have completed your registration and have received your Application Number, you need not send any documents to us now. However you can take a printout of your Application Form and keep it for your reference.

  2. Should I send the copies of certificates / documents regarding my qualification, caste, disability etc?

    No.

  3. Give me more details of the Online Exam.

  4. At what time am I required to appear for the test?

    Admit card will provide the information related to your date of test, time and venue etc. Please check Important information -> important dates link regularly.

  5. I have ME/M.Tech qualification. Can I apply?

    Yes. You can apply, provided additional to the ME/MTech your other qualifications meet the Eligibility requirements of OCES/DGFS-2019. Mention your PG qualification under ‘Details of any other additional qualification’ when you fill in the ‘Academic background’ information of your application.

  6. I have Ph.D qualification. Can I apply?

    No. There are separate channels for recruitment of such candidates. Please see http://www.barc.gov.in/careers/index.html#kskra for details.

  7. In my Degree Course, only CGPA / GPA / SGPA or letter grade has been awarded in place of percentage of marks. Can I enter the grade in my application?

    Applicants, who have been awarded CGPA / GPA / SGPA or letter grades, should convert CGPA into percentage. For example, if CGPA is 7.12 on a 10 point scale, the percentage is 71.2.

  8. I have appeared for my final Semester / Year Examinations and the results are yet to be announced. Am I eligible to apply?

    Yes. However, applicants selected and offered admission to OCES 2019 would be required to submit the final results on or before 30th November 2019. Similarly the applicants selected in DGFS-2019 would be required to submit the final results as per the requirement of the Institute in which they have secured M.Tech/M.Chem.Engg. admission.

  9. I have submitted my application online, but have forgotten the Application Number and also did not take a print out of the application form. What do I do?

    You may check your e-mail. After the final submission, you would’ve received an email with your registration number and name.

  10. How can I check the status of my application?

    You can click "Candidate's Login" menu and check the status of your application on this website by entering your relevant details.

  11. What is the Application Fee?

    A non-refundable application fee of ₹500/-(Five Hundred) is chargeable from male candidates in General and OBC categories. The bank charges, if any, are also to be borne by the applicant. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST, Dependents of Defence Personnel Killed in Action (DODPKIA) and candidates with disability are exempted from payment of application fee.

  12. How do I make the payment for application fee?

    During the application process, candidates who are required to pay the application fee will be redirected to the SBI payment gateway through which they can make the payment using credit / debit card and net banking.

  13. My payment has been verified. However, I’ve not received the registration number. What should I do?

    Please ensure that you’ve done the “final submission” of your application. Once the payment transaction is verified, you will receive a confirmation email from us. Upon receiving this mail, you are required to login to the site www.barconlineexam.in and do the final submission of the application. It may please be noted that if you do not do the final submission, your application will not be accepted.

  14. I am a SC/ST/OBC Applicant but don't have the caste certificate. Can I apply as a General Applicant?

    If you so desire, you may apply stating your category as "General", if eligible for General category. In such an event, your candidature will be considered as "GENERAL" and no change in category shall be allowed at a later date. No relaxation / concessions will be applicable to you.

  15. I am working in a Govt / Public Sector Company. Should I enclose an NOC from my employer at the time of applying for the Online Exam?

    Applicants presently employed in Central / State Govt departments, PSUs, Autonomous bodies and called for interview would be required to submit “No Objection Certificate” at the time of Interview.

  16. Will any travel expenses be paid to me for attending the Online Exam?

    No. You have to attend the Online Exam at your own expense.

  17. Can I change the test centre / city I have chosen for my Online Exam later on?

    No. Please choose the three choices of test centre / city carefully during your online registration process.

  18. Can I send my photograph and scanned signature by post?

    No. You must upload soft copy of your photograph and scanned signature.

  19. What will be the syllabus for BARC Online Exam?

    The syllabus for BARC Online Exam is specific to the Engineering Discipline which you selected. See the link 'Important Information -> About Online Exam' for further details.

  20. I have appeared in GATE-2019. Can I update my GATE score later on, even if I have completed my Online Application?

    GATE-2019 score can be uploaded on the website upto April 01, 2019 although you should have previously submitted your Online Application on / before January 31, 2019. However, you can improve your chances of being screened in to the Selection Interview by additionally applying on the basis of Online Exam. The last date for applying on the basis of Online Exam is January 31, 2019. Please note that the cut-off GATE scores for screening into Selection Interview will be known only after the last date for applying for Online Exam.

  21. Do I have to complete the entire application process in one session?

    No. You can enter/modify various particulars required in the application form in single or multiple sessions. At any point of filling the application before final submission, you can save the data entered till that point and logout, to fill in more details later on. However, please ensure that you do the “final submission” of the application before the closing date.

  22. I have selected only GATE screening option. Can I change it?

    No. If you have already submitted the application form with only GATE option selected, you cannot change your option to Online Exam and appear for the test.

  23. I have selected only the Online Exam screening option. Can I change it to GATE option?

    No. if you have already submitted the application form with only Online Exam option selected, you cannot change your option to GATE.

  24. I have 59.99% marks in my qualifying examination. Am I eligible to apply?

    No.

  25. How will I know whether I have been shortlisted for the interview?

    If you are shortlisted for interview, intimation will be sent to your e-mail id. You can also log in to the website and check your status.

  26. Can I apply on the basis of my GATE-2018 score which is valid this year as indicated on my score card?

    Yes, you can apply on the basis of a GATE-2018 or GATE-2019 score. However, candidates applying on the basis of a GATE-2018 score must ensure that the GATE-2018 score is entered during the application process.

  27. Can I select Delhi (Proper), Delhi NCR (Noida) and Delhi NCR (Gurgaon) as the three preferred test cities?

    You may choose any two of these three cities and any other centre as your third preferred choice.

  28. If I am selected for OCES-2019 and also obtain admission for M.Tech./M. Chem.Engg. in a DGFS Institute will I automatically be admitted to DGFS-2019?

    No. DGFS Fellowships are awarded on the basis of the needs of DAE’s programs as well as the Selection Interview merit of the candidate. DGFS Fellowships are offered only to the most meritorious candidates, as per Selection Interview performance and who have obtained admission to M.Tech./M.Chem.Engg. programs in specializations that are relevant to DAE’s programs.

  29. If my B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc.(Engg.) degree is in subjects like "Electrical & Electronics", "Electronics & Instrumentation", then under what discipline can I apply?

    Candidates with degrees in disciplines like "Electrical & Electronics" or "Electronics & Instrumentation" may apply under any one of the two relevant disciplines i.e. "Electrical" or "Electronics" in the former case and "Electronics" or "Instrumentation" in the latter case. Candidates with degree in "Electrical" can also apply under either of "Electrical" or "Electronics". However, a candidate wishing to be considered under a given discipline must have a valid GATE-2018 or GATE-2019 score in the same discipline and must write the Online Test also in that discipline. Such candidates are not permitted to simultaneously apply under both the disciplines.

  30. For Bioscience Postgraduate applicants (M.Sc.), what does the requirement of having one out of Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Agriculture Chemistry at the B.Sc. stage mean?

    Eligible applicants need not have a B.Sc. degree with one of Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Agriculture Chemistry as the major subject. It is only required that the candidates have studied one of these subjects as part of their B.Sc. which may have a different major subject. Eg. A candidate with M.Sc. (Biotechnology) and B.Sc. (Biotechnology) who has studied Chemistry as one of the subjects during the B.Sc. is eligible to apply, subject to meeting all other eligibility requirements of the OCES/DGFS-19 recruitment process.
