Q.1 I have applied online to the BARC OCES/DGFS-2015 programme. Should I send any documents now?
Ans If you have completed your registration and have received your Application Number, you need not send any documents to us now. However you can take a printout of your Application Form and keep it for your reference.
Q.2 Should I send the Bank Challan receipt?
Ans No. Please retain the two copies of the Bank Challans with you.
Q.3 Should I send the copies of certificates / documents regarding my qualification, caste, disability etc?
Ans No.

Q.5 At what time am I required to appear for the test?
Ans Admit card will provide the information related to your date of test, time and venue etc.
Q.6 I have ME/M.Tech qualification. Can I apply?
Ans Yes. You can apply, provided additional to the ME/MTech your other qualifications meet the Eligibility requirements of OCES/DGFS-2015. Mention your PG qualification under ‘Details of any other additional qualification’ when you fill in the ‘Academic background’ information of your application.
Q.7 I have Ph.D qualification. Can I apply?
Ans No.
Q.8 In my Degree Course, only CGPA / GPA / SGPA or letter grade has been awarded in place of percentage of marks. Can I enter the grade in my application?
Ans Applicants, who have been awarded CGPA / GPA / SGPA or letter grades, should convert CPI into percentage. For example, if CGPA  is 7.12 on a 10 point scale, the percentage  is 71.2.
Q.9 I have appeared for my final Semester / Year Examinations and the results are yet to be announced. Am I eligible to apply?
Ans Yes. However, applicants selected and offered admission to OCES 2015 would be required to submit the final results on or before 30th November 2015. Similarly the applicants selected in DGFS-2015 would be required to submit the final results as per the requirement of the Institute in which they have secured M.Tech/M.Chem.Engg. admission.
Q.10 I have submitted my application online, but have forgotten the Application Number and also did not take a print out of the application form. What do I do?

You may check your e-mail. After registration, an e-mail will be sent to each applicant along with the registration number and name.

Q.11 How can I check the status of my application?
Ans You can click "Candidate's Login" menu and check the status of your application on this website by entering your relevant details.
Q.12 Can I send a Cheque / DD in lieu of the Bank Challan?
Ans No. Payment of application fee through Bank Challan only is acceptable.
Q.13 I am a SC/ST/OBC Applicant but don't have the caste certificate. Can I apply as a General Applicant?
Ans If you so desire, you may apply stating your category as "General", if eligible for General category. In such an event, your candidature will be considered as "GENERAL" and no change in category shall be allowed at a later date. No relaxation / concessions will be applicable to you.
Q.14 I am working in a Govt / Public Sector Company. Should I enclose an NOC from my employer at the time of applying for the Online Exam?
Ans Applicants presently employed in Central / State Govt departments, PSUs, Autonomous bodies and called for interview would be required to submit No Objection Certificate at the time of Interview.
Q.15 Will any travel expenses be paid to me for attending the Online Exam?
Ans You have to attend the Online Exam at your own expense.
Q.16 Can I change the test centre / city I have chosen for my Online Exam later on?
Ans Before submitting your application, you have to provide three choices of test centre / city in order of preference for your Online Exam. However, at a later stage of examination slot booking, subject to availability, you may be allowed to select any test venue other than your initial three options. However, this will be allowed only under special circumstances requiring so and at the discretion of the BARC Online Examination Authority.
Q.17 What is the Application Fee?
Ans A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 250/-(`Two Hundred and Fifty) is chargeable from the male candidates in General and OBC categories. The bank charges, if any, are also to be borne by the applicant. Women candidates and the candidates belonging to SC/ST, Dependents of Defence Personnel Killed in Action (DODPKIA) and candidates with disability are exempted from payment of application fee.
Q.18 Can I send my photograph and scanned signature by post?
Ans No. You must upload soft copy of your photograph and scanned signature to complete the online registration of your application.
Q.19 What will be the syllabus for BARC Online Exam?
Ans The syllabus for BARC Online Exam is specific to the Engineering Discipline which you selected. See the link 'Important Information -> About Online Exam' for further details.
Q.20 I have appeared in GATE-2015. Can I update my GATE score later on, even if I have completed my Online Application?
Ans GATE-2015 score can be uploaded on the website upto March 30, 2015 although you should have previously submitted your Online Application before February 6, 2015. However, you can improve your chances of being screened in to the Selection Interview by additionally applying on the basis of Online Exam. The last date for applying on the basis of Online Exam is February 6, 2015. Please note that the cut-off GATE scores for screening into Selection Interview will be known only after the last date for applying for Online Exam.
Q.21 Do I have to complete the entire application process in one session?
Ans You can enter/modify various particulars required in the application form in single or multiple sessions. At any point of filling the application before final submission, you can save the data entered till that point and logout, to fill in more details later on. However, please ensure that you do the final submission of the application before the closing date (February 6, 2015 for Applying and March 30, 2015 for updation of GATE-2015 score by candidates who have previously applied)
Q.22 I have selected only GATE screening option. Can I change it?
Ans No, if you have already submitted the application form with only GATE option selected, you cannot change your option to Online Exam and appear for the test.
Q.23 I have selected only the Online Exam screening option. Can I change it to GATE option?
Ans No, if you have already submitted the application form with only Online Exam option selected, you cannot change your option to GATE.
Q.24 I have 59.99% marks in my qualifying examination. Am I eligible to apply?
Ans No.
Q.25 How will I know whether I have been shortlisted for interview?
Ans If you are shortlisted for interview, intimation will be sent to your e-mail id. You can also log in to the website and check your status.
Q.26 Can I apply on the basis of my GATE-2014 score which is valid this year as indicated on my score card?
Ans Yes, you can apply on the basis of a GATE-2014 or GATE-2015 score. However, candidates applying on the basis of a GATE-2014 score must ensure that the GATE-2014 score is uploaded along with the Application, which has to be submitted by February 6, 2015.
Q.27 Can I select Delhi (Proper), Delhi NCR (Noida) and Delhi NCR (Gurgaon) as the three preferred test centres?
Ans You may choose any two of these three centres and any other centre as your three preferred centres.
Q.28 If I am selected for OCES-2015 and also obtain admission for M.Tech./M. Chem.Engg. in a DGFS Institute will I automatically be admitted to DGFS-2015?
Ans DGFS Fellowships are awarded on the basis of the needs of DAE’s programs as well as the Selection Interview merit of the candidate. DGFS Fellowships are offered only to the most meritorious candidates, as per Selection Interview performance and who have obtained admission to M.Tech./M.Chem.Engg. programs in specializations that are relevant to DAE’s programs.
Q.29 If my B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc.(Engg.) degree is in subjects like "Electrical & Electronics", "Electronics & Instrumentation" then under what discipline can I apply?
Ans Candidates with degrees in disciplines like "Electrical & Electronics" or "Electronics & Instrumentation" may apply under any one of the two relevant disciplines i.e. "Electrical" or "Electronics" in the former case and "Electronics" or "Instrumentation" in the latter case. However, a candidate wishing to be considered under a given discipline must have a valid GATE-2014 or GATE-2015 score in the same discipline and must write the Online Test also in that discipline. Such candidates are not permitted to simultaneously apply under both the disciplines.
Q.30 Who is eligible to apply for Radiological Safety Engineering (RSE) ?
Ans "Radiological Safety Engineering" is not a separate discipline but an additional Training Scheme option for candidates having a M.Sc. degree in Physics or Chemistry. This option is not open to candidates with a degree in Engineering.
Q.31 For Bioscience Postgraduate applicants (M.Sc.) what does the requirement of having one out of Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Agriculture Chemistry at the B.Sc. stage mean?
Ans Eligible applicants need not have a B.Sc. degree with one of Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Agriculture Chemistry as the major subject. It is only required that the candidates have studied one of these subjects as part of their B.Sc. which may have a different major subject. Eg. A candidate with M.Sc. (Biotechnology) and B.Sc. (Biotechnology) who has studied Chemistry as one of the subjects during the B.Sc. is eligible to apply, subject to meeting all other Eligibility Requirements of the OCES/DGFS-15 recruitment process.
