FAQ

  1. I have applied online to the BARC OCES/DGFS-2022 program. Should I send any documents now?

    If you have completed your registration and have received your Registration Number, you need not send any documents to us now. However you can take a printout of your Application Form and keep it for your reference.

  2. Should I send the copies of certificates / documents regarding my qualification, caste, disability etc?

    No.

  4. At what time am I required to appear for the test?

    Admit card will provide the information related to your date of test, time and venue etc. Please check Important information -> important dates link regularly.

  5. I have ME/M.Tech qualification. Can I apply?

    Yes. You can apply, provided in addition to the ME/MTech your other qualifications meet the Eligibility requirements of OCES/DGFS-2022. Mention your PG qualification under ‘Details of any other additional qualification’ when you fill in the ‘Academic background’ information of your application.

  6. I have Ph.D qualification. Can I apply?

    No.

  7. In my Degree Course, only CGPA or letter grade has been awarded in place of percentage of marks. Can I enter the grade in my application?

    Applicants, who have been awarded CGPA or letter grades, should convert CGPA into percentage as per the ordinances of their respective university and supported the necessary conversion rule documents or certificate to that effect.

  8. I have appeared for my final Semester / Year Examinations and the results are yet to be announced. Am I eligible to apply?

    Yes. However, applicants selected and offered admission to OCES 2022 would be required to submit the final results on or before Jan, 31, 2023. Similarly the applicants selected in DGFS-2022 would be required to submit the final results as per the requirement of the Institute in which they have secured M.Tech/M.Chem.Engineering admission.

  9. I have submitted my application online, but have forgotten the Registration Number and also did not take a print out of the application form. What do I do?

    You may check your registered email. After the final submission, you would’ve received an intimation providing Registration number and name on your registered email.

  10. How can I check the status of my application?

    You can click "Candidate's Login" menu and check the status of your application on this website by entering your relevant details.

  11. What is the Application Fee?

    A non-refundable application fee of ₹500/-(Five Hundred) is chargeable from male candidates belonging to General and OBC categories. The bank charges, if any, are also to be borne by the applicant. Women candidates, Transgender candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST, Dependents of Defence Personnel Killed in Action (DODPKIA) and candidates with disability are exempted from payment of application fee.

  12. How do I make the payment for application fee?

    During the application process, candidates who are required to pay the application fee will be redirected to the SBI payment gateway through which they can make the payment using credit / debit card and net banking.

  13. My payment has been verified. However, I’ve not received the registration number. What should I do?

    Please ensure that you’ve done the “final submission” of your application. Once your payment is verified, you are required to login to the site www.barconlineexam.in and do the final submission of the application. It may please be noted that if you do not do the final submission, your application will not be accepted.

  14. I am a SC/ST/OBC Applicant but don't have the caste certificate. Can I apply as a General Applicant?

    If you so desire, you may apply stating your category as "General", if eligible for General category. In such an event, your candidature will be considered as "GENERAL" and no change in category shall be allowed at a later date. No relaxation / concessions will be applicable to you.

  15. I am working in a Govt / Public Sector Company. Should I enclose an NOC from my employer at the time of applying for the Online Exam?

    Applicants presently employed in Central / State Govt departments, PSUs, Autonomous bodies and called for interview would be required to submit “No Objection Certificate” at the time of Interview.

  16. Will any travel expenses be paid to me for attending the Online Exam?

    No. You have to attend the Online Exam at your own expense.

  17. Can I change the test centre / city I have chosen for my Online Exam later on?

    No. Please choose the three choices of test centre / city carefully during your online registration process.

  18. Can I send my photograph and scanned signature by post?

    No. You must upload soft copy of your photograph and scanned signature.

  19. What will be the syllabus for BARC Online Exam?

    The syllabus for BARC Online Exam is specific to the Engineering/ Science Discipline which you selected. 'Important Information -> About Online Exam' for further details.

  20. Do I have to complete the entire application process in one session?

    No. You can enter/modify various particulars required in the application form in single or multiple sessions. At any point of filling the application before final submission, you can save the data entered till that point and logout, to fill in more details later on. However, please ensure that you do the “final submission” of the application before the closing date.

  21. I have appeared in GATE-2022. Can I update my GATE score later on, even if I have completed my Online Application?

    After declaration of GATE 2022 results, a separate link will be provided where your GATE-2022 score can be uploaded on the website upto April 06, 2022 although you should have previously submitted your Online Application on / before February 22, 2022. However, you can improve your chances of being screened in to the Selection Interview by additionally applying on the basis of Online Exam. The last date for applying on the basis of Online Exam is February 21, 2022. Please note that the cut-off GATE scores for screening into Selection Interview will be known only after the last date for applying for Online Exam.

  22. I have selected only GATE screening option. Can I change it?

    No. If you have already submitted the application form with only GATE option selected, you cannot change your option to Online Exam and appear for the test.

  23. I have selected only the Online Exam screening option. Can I change it to GATE option?

    No. if you have already submitted the application form with only Online Exam option selected, you cannot change your option to GATE.

  24. I have 59.99% marks in my qualifying examination. Am I eligible to apply?

    No.

  25. How will I know whether I have been shortlisted for the interview?

    If you are shortlisted for interview, intimation will be sent to your registered e-mail id. & SMS on Registered mobile number. You can also log in to the website and check your status.

  26. Can I apply on the basis of my GATE-2021 score which is valid this year as indicated on my score card?

    Yes, you can apply on the basis of a GATE-2021 or GATE-2022 score. However, candidates applying on the basis of a GATE-2021 scores must ensure that the score is entered during application process. Applicants with a GATE-2022 Score must register and fill in all details relevant to the admission process, prior to the declaration of GATE-2022 results, and before the last date (February 22, 2022) for the same. After declaration of GATE 2022 results, a separate link will be provided where your GATE-2022 score can be uploaded on the website upto April 06, 2022.

  27. If I am selected for OCES-2022 and also obtain admission for M.Tech./M. Chem. Engineering. in a DGFS Institute will I automatically be admitted to DGFS-2022?

    No. DGFS Fellowships are awarded on the basis of the needs of DAE’s programs as well as the Selection Interview merit of the candidate. DGFS Fellowships are offered only to the most meritorious candidates, as per Selection Interview performance and who have obtained admission to M.Tech./M.Chem.Engineering programs in specializations that are relevant to DAE’s programs.

  28. Why is the age limit for general category applicants 26 yrs as on August 1, 2022?

    Age limit has been fixed so that every candidate who would have been eligible in case the recruitment processes had been started at its normal time (January 2022) is still eligible to apply. It is to be noted that in earlier cycles (OCES-2020 or OCES-2021) the age limit was 26 years as on August 1, 2020 or August 1, 2021 and the same is being followed this year (OCES-2022).

  29. I have just entered final year of my qualifying degree. Am I eligible to apply for OCES-2022?

    Persons selected for OCES 2022 must be graduating in the academic year 2021-22 and produce final marksheets of the qualifying degree by January 31, 2023. However, retention of these candidates in the OCES or DGFS programs is subject to the mark-sheet of their final result, which meets the eligibility requirements of the OCES/ DGFS-2022 program. Further they have to join the OCES training programme in October 2022. Persons in final year will not be able to do both these things and hence are not eligible to apply.

  30. I have completed my B. Tech in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. Am I eligible to apply for OCES-2022 under electronics discipline?

    Yes, all such candidates are eligible under Electronics discipline.

  31. Who can opt for the facility of scribe? (40%)

    The Persons with 40% Disabilities (PWD) in the categories of blindness, locomotor disability (both arm affected - BA) and cerebral palsy are provided the facility of scribe, if desired by the person. In case of other category of Persons with 40% Disabilities, the facility of scribe is allowed to such candidates on production of a certificate to the effect that the person concerned has physical limitation to write, and scribe is essential to write examination on behalf. The required certificate should be issued by the Chief Medical Officer/ Civil Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care institution.

  32. What are the Guidelines to be followed to avoid issues related to Online Payment/ online application of OCES - 2022 ?

    1. Clear the cookies and cache files of your browser.
    2. Ensure that pop-up blockers are disabled.
    3. Online payment for application fee should be carried out preferably on desktop/laptop NOT on the Mobile.
    4. If the online payment page or application page keeps loading, make sure you have a good Internet Connectivity .
    5. While making online payment, do NOT attempt to close your browser or stop the webpage.
    6. If your payment is pending but amount has been debited already, kindly do not attempt for a new transaction immediately.
    7. Make sure to Save and Logout your application before closing the browser.
